Description

PLEASE READ: This bundle contains a zipped file of my Poetry Unit and Figures of Speech Tic Tac Toe game.

In the poetry unit, students identify 6 figures of speech, read poetry examples that contain the figures of speech, and write poems that demonstrate 4 of the figures of speech.

After looking for figurative language examples in poems, identify signature styles of famous poets. The culminating activity is a Poetry Project to showcase the students' poems. In addition, students provide explanations of the figures of speech used in each poem (analysis).

Once students can find figures of speech, they read picture books and identify figures of speech examples. Students use the examples to fill a Tic Tac Toe board (with a twist).
