This product comes in two formats - worksheets for printing or Google Slides for Google Classroom. Answer keys are on a separate PDF, so students will not have access.

There is also a short video that will show you an easy way to assign specific slides to your students and make the workspace bigger.

Pattern poems are a great way to provide structure but still allow for plenty of creativity. While learning these patterns, your students will also be practicing syllables, parts of speech, and figurative language.

In addition, there is also a Poetry Project Choice Grid with six independent projects, a sheet of poetry reflection questions to use for discussions or as writing prompts, and two pages of ideas for extending the activities and sharing student work.

Perfect for National Poetry Month or use all year long - at a poetry center, as homework, with a sub, or anytime you need an open-ended, creative activity. Another idea is to use the patterns to write about a science or social studies content area, or perhaps about a book students are reading. Also great for holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day.

What teachers have said about this resource:

LOVED this poetry bundle for my 4th graders! They had SO much fun learning about different types of poems and writing their own! Our 2 week poetry unit wasn't enough time to learn all the different types and we are so excited to come back to poems in February! Thank you for creating such a GREAT resource! :) - Courtney Walker

This was such a great comprehensive way to teach my students to write ALL kinds of poems. After using this resource, even my kids who "hated" poetry couldn't stop coming up with poems about everything! - Stefanie H.

This is a great resource for implementing more poetry in my classroom. The format/organization is great for walking students through step by step. - Elizabeth P.

HUGE help with our poetry units. Great explanations and exercises. Thorough and creative. Thanks for easing the anxiety in teaching this genre. - Brenda W.
