This product is designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Point Slope Form of a line through practice with a variety of prompts.
Slide #3 should be printed, on full size setting. The pages can be inserted into plastic sheets. Students will work on the plastic sheets using thin dry erase markers with erasers.
Project the problems one by one. Students will record the information that is projected onto their templates. They will complete the remaining information on the template for each problem.
As students complete the template, they can work in partners, to promote discourse. Teachers can circulate to check students’ understanding.
I find that students are better prepared to complete independent practice after having used templates like these. It is also easier to formatively assess students as they work, since the template is large and it is easy to see students' thought process.
This product is a 19-page pdf, with answer key included.
