This printable packet will guide your students to examine biographies and identify the point of view. In addition students can summarize a biography with the easy template. Help your students write a report about an interesting person using my step-by-step instruction sheet with a checklist. They will especially enjoy the presentation format!
Use this packet in a literature circle, literacy center, as homework, whole-group instuction or one-on-one.
Included in the packet:
*12 biography cards, foldables, question/activity cards, biography poster, step-by-step handout for a biography project with a checklist, note-taking organizer, 7 presentation printables and an organizer for summarizing a biography
* Page 3 - foldable (part one): how to tell if a passage is written in first, or third person, third person limited and third person omniscient. (Fold in half and cut on the dotted lines to create flaps)
* Page 4-foldable (part 2): key words for author’s point of view (Cut the rectangles away and glue to your notebook paper underneath the flaps in part one.)
Page 5-foldable: choose one of the biography cards and answer the questions. Also complete the bonus activity. (Great assessment tool!)
Pages 6-7 Biography task cards: divide students into pairs and give each group a biography task card. Students will take turns reading the card out-loud to their partner.
