Product Description
Are you looking for an engaging activity to do with your class while teaching point of view!? This is one of my favorite activities to do with my class because they are amazed with the final outcome! This activity can be done with a variety of different books and texts. I use the book "How Many Days to America" by Eve Bunting around Thanksgiving. It is a wonderful authentic way to practice Point of View.

I photocopy the pages of the text and pass out the pictures to the class. Then students choose one character and watercolor just that person in their picture. Students will then plan and write a diary entry from that person's point of view. Once they have worked through the planning, a rough draft, and a final draft of their letter, students will tear and tea stain their work to make it look old and weathered. This is their favorite part. The final step is mounting their writing with their picture. These are so impressive on a bulletin board or display.

This includes:
-Teacher directions
-Feelings Word List
-Student Planning Sheet
-Student Letter Writing Sheet
