Point of View Flipbook, Powerpoint, and More!
Perfect for students in grades 6-8, this awesome flipbook and powerpoint set is a great way to teach 1st person point of view, 3rd person limited point of view, and 3rd person omniscient point of view. This product is loaded with tons of resources to help your students grasp this somewhat challenging concept. It also makes a great addition to my best-selling product, Link-Point of View Fun
Included in this product are the following materials:
Point of View Flipbook- Many students are visual, as well as, hands-on learners. Flipbooks are a great way to engage even the most reluctant student. The top of the flipbook has three flaps the students flip up, one for each point of view mentioned above. The top half of the flap includes cloze notes about each point of view and the bottom half includes two practice sentences, for a total of 6 practice sentences. This flipbook comes ready for student note-taking and features cute and colorful letters. It is easy to fold and only requires two simple cuts. Print the document 2-sided from your printer or use a copier and it is ready for folding and cutting.
2. Point of View PowerPoint- Also included in this set is a powerpoint that will guide students through an introduction to point of view and is meant to accompany the flipbook.
It comes with 10 slides which include the following information:
Slide 1- Title slide and brief intro to point of view
Slide 2- Four boxes of important information about point of view and narration.
Slide 3- Detailed pictures and student-friendly directions for how to assemble the flipbook.
Slide 4, 5, 6- Notes on each type of point of view (1st person, 3rd person limited, 3rd person omniscient) (Follows flipbook directly)
Slide 7, 8, 9- Practice sentences for each point of view (1st person, 3rd person limited, 3rd person omniscient) (Follows flipbook directly)
Slide 10- Graphics credit
The powerpoint slides include animations which advance as you click to reveal the words that belong on each blank of the flipbook. This powerpoint is also customizable, so you can adjust terms, add, or delete information, and change colors as needed.
3. Monster Notes Sheet- This sheet is meant to accompany slide 2 of the powerpoint and features cloze notes about point of view and narration. There are two on a page, so each student only needs a half sheet of paper.
4. Directions for printing and assembling the flipbook- This helpful 3 page document includes detailed pictures and directions for printing and assembling the flipbook.
5. Answer Key for Flipbook and Monster Notes Sheet- Answers are also included in the powerpoint.
Depending on how you use the materials in this product, this could be a 1-2 day lesson. Combined with my other product, “Point of View Fun", you would have enough material for 3-4 days of point of view practice.
**Please note: This powerpoint has been saved as .pptx, .ppt (ppt 97-2003), and also as a keynote presentation. Some of the text boxes may need to be adjusted based on the type of computer you have and program you use to open it.
When creating this powerpoint, I used LL Elementary Dots, a free font from Lovin’ Lit. When you open the powerpoint on your computer, if you don’t have LL Elementary Dots installed on your computer, it will open in a default font. If you like, you can grab the font and install it on your computer by using this link: Link-Free Fonts (For Commercial Use!) LL Scribbles and LL Elementary Dots
If for some reason the powerpoint does not open properly, I do have a version that I created using Google Docs (in Google Slides). If needed you can email me after you purchase the set and I will send you the link to the powerpoint in Google Docs. Please be aware some minor adjustments may need to take place on Google Docs, as well.
