Great getting to know you ELA lesson!
This lesson includes a Do-Now with three passages that students can read and decide the point of view in which it is written (first person, third person, etc.) and gives them a space to explain "how they know." This allows the teacher to asses prior knowledge of point of view. Some students may know right away, others may have no prior experience.
The lesson also includes a DI/guided practice page with two teacher "All about Me" passages written in both first and then in third person. Students then practice their own "All about Me" paragraph written in both first and in third person.
This is a great "getting to know you" lesson that will give middle school students a chance to share about their interests with their teacher and classmates.
