This is a great way to introduce RI 3.6/RI 4.6, point of view in nonfiction text. This concept can be tricky and I've created a PowerPoint that really helps to break it down. There are 2 files included with this purchase:
The main component of this lesson is the PowerPoint slide show (see preview/sample file) for introducing the various aspects of the standard (looking for strong words, identifying the author's point of view, relating one's own point of view). There are also short passages in the PowerPoint for student practice.
The second file (see thumbnail samples) includes a coordinating PowerPoint companion for students to write on as you are going through the slide show. There are also four point of view graphic organizers that can be used with almost any text, and five original passages for use with the standard, as well.
Enjoy, and please message me if you have any questions! :)
