As we aim to have students learn about and master the concept of "Point of View," this is a fun seasonal writing activity that will force students into writing from specified points of view.
In this activity, students will choose 1 of 3 different prompts (all suspenseful in nature). Students will receive a "ticket" with a specified point of view they are to write from. Students will then write their story from that view point. In the end, students will cut out a pumpkin and the story will be creatively placed between the pumpkin halves. This makes for a cute display piece and provides a little pizazz to an already fun activity.
Included in this Activity:
• Teacher directions
• Student Directions
• Differentiation: Choice of 3 prompts
• Rubric (loosely based on the AIR rubric for narrative writing)
• Pumpkin template
• Point of view slips
