This independent, small group exercise is usually done as a reteach for more advanced learners. (It may be difficult for struggling learners.)
This activity is a follow-up to our Point-of-View lesson. For this exercise, I cut up the role-play cards ahead of time, as well as real estate advertisements from the local newspaper. Each group gets one envelope. The envelope shows a House for Sale on the front that is read aloud to the students. Next, the students take one role-play card from the envelope and free-write their Point of View. The roles include: a thief, a Real Estate Agent, an Interior Decorator, and a homeless person. They then share their free-writes and compare Points of View. They pass in the Free-Write as a formative assessment. This resource contains the Role Play cards for copying.
