Introduce, review, or assess point of view with these task cards!
Point of view is a skill that students need repeated practice applying to texts. These task cards can be used in literacy centers, as a game of SCOOT, or as a quick assessment.
On each of the 30 task cards, there is a short passage and a choice for either first person or third person. Many of these passages used mixed pronouns (he and she with I and me), so you can see if your students are relying too heavily on pronouns to determine the point of view. Dialogue is also included in some of the passages, so you can see if this is a problem area for your students with point of view.
I love using task cards as a quick check or as an exit ticket. It is so easy to pull one or two cards to see if a kid got it for that day. I also love to put task cards with a seasonal game board to make a fun game for a literacy center.
I hope these task cards help you in building your students' understanding of point of view!
