PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Use this resource to scaffold student learning with graphic organizers that examine the four areas of Point of View: experiences, beliefs, attitude and values. With the Common Core State Standards comes new way of looking at Point of View. No longer just identifying the speaker, students now have to be able to cite evidence, infer and compare experiences, beliefs, attitude and values of characters and themselves.

This product is paired with the following literature by Gerald McDermott:
Coyote
Arrow to the Sun
Raven

(I also have Companion Packs for those stories as well. They can be seen here ---------> McDermott Companion Packs)

However, generic versions of the graphic organizers are also provided so you can continue to use the organizers with any literature.

What's Included
★ Point of View Reference Chart and Point of View Page to teach students the meaning of Point of View.
★ Point of View example pages using First Lady Michelle Obama’s Perspective on Childhood Obesity as an example. Another example using the Big Bad Wolf is also provided.
★ Let’s Examine Your Point of View page to have students write in their own perspective on school.
★ Generic Let’s Examine Your Point of View page for you to practice with another topic.
★ Let’s Examine Coyote’s Point of View, Let’s Examine the Boy’s Point of View, and Let’s Examine Raven’s Point of View pages.
★ Compare Other Characters' Point of View from the story (one for each story and a generic version).
★ Compare Your Point of View with a Character’s Point of View pages.

Students can write comparing their point of view with that of the character using the Point of View Comparisons page. It is a generic page so it can be used with the characters from the 3 stories or any character.

Download the preview to see sample pages. Reproducible pages are in grayscale or use line art for easy duplication.
