This lesson is a great way to have your kids dig deeper into the concept of point of view. After teaching the different points of view, students will be asked to analyze how different perspective can change the way a reader understands a story.
A complete lesson plan is included in this product. Below is a basic outline of the lesson:
*Students study two pictures of the same event with different "characters". They will write a paragraph from each "character's" perspective about the event.
*Students will read three different versions of a short story. The versions are written in third person objective, first person (from point of view of Mary) and first person (from point of view of Daisy).
*Students will analyze how point of view affects a story by completing a three way Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting the information each version of the story provides.
