Point of View in Academic Writing: Power Point, Note-taking Template, and Worksheets.
First person, second person, and third person.
This packet helps students learn which point of view is appropriate in academic essays. The power point goes through the rules, best practices, and gives relevant examples. It also contains slides that check for understanding. The note-taking template can be used simply for students to organize their notes during the Power Point, or you can make it an assignment. There are three worksheets with different passages using incorrect point of view that students re-write into third person. I use two for practice, and one as a quiz.
