This was part of a comic hero/villain unit. This activity assesses students on deeper meaning of non-print text. Students look at elements of design such as space, object/subject, and contrast to understand symbolism in the piece about this villainess. Interesting for feminism unit about the hyper-feminine portrayal of heroines and villainesses in comics. Questions are PARCC aligned to assess characterization and symbolism. Great for reluctant readers or for art class wanting to reinforce skills in the English classroom.
