Fun mid-novel project for Poisonwood Bible! This was created for my AP Literature classes, but it is closely aligned with IB Literature as it is focused on "cultural and contextual considerations" of the work. Would also work well for Pre-AP courses.
Students will brainstorm elements of the work that fall under at least one of four categories: E(economic), S(social), P(political), eN(vironmental).
I would spend a day or two having students brainstorm different elements of the novel that fall under these categories using poster paper and markers or post-its. This allows students quite a bit of variety so you don't have submissions that overlap with topics. I have a FREE Brainstorming Resource for the project - "Poisonwood Bible-ESPN Project Brainstorming Instructions" to help with this part of the assignment.
The project is technology-based using Prezi, a movie, or similar resource. This is also fully editable in case you would like to change any instructions. Includes easy-to-use rubric.
