Have you ever wanted your students to do a service project? Do your students have to adhere to academic standards in the classroom? Pokemon Go Learn is a fun way to motivate your students to "catch 'em all." Enclosed is an Excel spreadsheet that can be cut out by students to create a Pokedex. Each standard for 7th and 8th grade ELA has an accompanying Pokemon that must be "caught" by performing at or above standard. (Grades / classes can be changed to suit the needs of the teacher.) Homeschoolers can use this for overall academics. Parents can use this as a chore chart or a service project at home. Other Pokemon can be caught by doing a specific community service. The goal for the students is to catch them all by the end of the year. It's a fun way to motivate your students to do well academically and to be service oriented.
In my class, I have divided students into three teams (Mystic, Valor, and Instinct) to add some friendly competition to the class.
