Work on fine motor skills through these pokey pin activities with pictures and words for autumn or fall, back to school, halloween and Thanksgiving. NO PREP activities for August, September, October and November fine motor literacy centers. Fine motor activities to work on pencil grasp. Letters have arrows to show sequencing of letter formation. Adorable clip art. 60 pictures.
Developed by Jan McCleskey, MA, OTR, these pokey pin activities work well to promote a pencil grasp and strengthening of skills for fine motor control. Following the sequence of the letters will promote letter formation and handwriting skills. All pictures have fall themed sightwords.
Fine Motor Skills are important! Punch Dots or pokey pin activities are a fun way to work on:
1. Eye Hand Coordination
2. Pencil Control
3. Grasp Development
Activities include pictures and words for:
16 Back to School activities
28 Fall activities
10 Halloween activities (appropriate)
6 Thanksgiving activities
Print and cut out activities from file
Place over craft foam or a mouse pad
Use a golf tee, toothpick, pencil, corn cob holder (filed dull with one prong cut off) or other puncher, to punch along the dots.
Also included is a therapeutic adaptaion to work on grasp development using a TIP grip/golf tee to further enhance dynamic control of a pencil - by bending and pointing the last joint of the thumb. (instructions included).
Alternate activity 1: Use q-tip and paint to go along a sequence
Alternate activity 2: Use pencil to color the dots along a sequence
