Description

Three original poems about polar bears and penguins are included in this set of literacy activities designed to help improve young readers' fluency skills.

The poems can be copied in full-page size and stapled into a Reader's Theater script for whole group choral reads, or copied two-to-a-page so that students may cut-and-paste them into their poetry notebooks.

They can also be laminated and kept on binder rings at a literacy center in either full or half-page size.

Students can practice reading the poems to themselves, a parent, a partner, or a stuffed book buddy! These repeated encounters with familiar text will improve their automaticity, expression, timing, and comprehension.
