Polar Bear & Friends Add It Up! includes a ten frame lesson to coordinate with the story Dear Polar Bear. In the story by Barry Ablett, Polar Bear is lonely and writes letters to his other bear friends around the world asking for help to improve his home in the Arctic. It is an adorable story that our students always love! This related math pack focuses on addition on ten frames. Included are examples for modeling, number stories with workmats and counters for cooperative groups, a related center activity, and an individual assessment too! This hands-on math lesson will be a great addition to your polar bear, Arctic, and winter teaching units!
