Chilly Sight Words
Students find a sight word and read it. They color the bear on the response sheet the matching color and write the word in the box
Polar Bear Nonsense
The students draw a polar bear word out of the pile
They sound it out, and determine if it is a real or nonsense word. They record under the correct heading on their recording sheet.
Students measure the icebergs with the ice cubes. Write the number in the box and then color in the iceberg the corresponding color.
Students will count the ten frame, decided if it is bigger or smaller than the iceberg on their response sheet. Student will write the number in the box, and color the polar bear if the number is larger or circle the polar bear if smaller.
Find the Polar Bear
Print desired Sight Word Lists. Place the sight words in the pocket chart. Place the “special items” behind 2 sight words.
Students have to “look” for the item by reading the sight words.
Dolch Lists 3-5 are included.
You can play this game two different ways.
Old Maid. Students draw cards, when they have a match they pull them out of their hands. Whoever has the Oops! card at the end loses.
Oops! Students draw card and read the number. If read correctly they get to keep card. If they pull Oops! card, they have to return all cards.
