Product Description
This political cartoon activity about U.S. imperialism in the Pacific requires students to analyze a political cartoon, apply key knowledge to their interpretation of the cartoons' message, and answer probing questions which will lead them to an understanding of the reasons for imperialism in the Pacific and the response to imperialism from people living in the Pacific. They are also encouraged to formulate their own probing questions based on their observations and interpretation of the cartoon (which I like to have students share and answer as an add-on activity in my lesson!).

Be sure to discuss the nativism, or racism, evident in these cartoons as well!
