This activity is engaging and simple to use. It has an explanation page and a printable handout worksheet that provides a political cartoon example. Students will analyze a historical event by drawing a picture of the event or policy and how it made people feel. It comes with an easy template for students to fill out that has students explain what they have drawn. This activity is fun and applies to upper elementary through high school history students.
A new primary source political cartoon was added with an analysis lesson. Students analyze two political cartoons created by Benjamin Franklin. The analysis mimics the requirements for their own cartoon creation! It's a great, easily scaffolded lesson!
