This behavior clipchart has been a lifesaver in my classroom. The behavior in my classroom has improved because I am focusing more on the positive student behavior instead of negative. If my students would get to pink by the end of the day I would "bedazzle" their clothespin with a tiny jewel that I bought from Michaels, and that was all the motivation they needed!
Everyone starts on green in the morning and from there they can move up or down, depending on their behavior. If the student clips down, they are able to fix their behavior and clip back up during the day. This was the huge difference from when I would have them flip cards. And I can make sure those students who are always on task are getting recognized for their efforts too.
I cup about 2 inches off of the red and pink cards, and 1 inch off of the purple and orange cards. I found that it just didn't need to be that big on those cards because they were not used as much by a huge group of students at one time.
Good Luck, I would love to hear how you like the clipchart idea!
