I use this worksheet with my Geometry students to help them discover the Polygon Interior Angle Sum Theorem during this activity (which I've done as an individual and group work activity). I like to have students use rulers to draw the lines in order to show crisp, clean triangles forming within the polygon.
It is important that students know the triangle angle sum theorem before starting this worksheet. Also, depending on the level of the class/resources available, I will allow students to use electronic devices and textbooks to figure out the names of the various polygons or I will simply give them the names if they are unable to remember.
