Polygon Vocabulary Puzzle
Students must rearrange 9 puzzle pieces so that the units match on each side of the puzzle piece. Once finished, the puzzle will be a 3 x 3 grid which is easily checked by teacher using the "mystery word" that it spells (left to right, top to bottom). In this case "Character".
This puzzle reviews vocabulary for geometry including shape names and properties such as right, obtuse, acute as well as quadrilaterals, trapezoids, etc.
This puzzle is intended for fifth grade use, but may be good practice for 4th or 6th. Multiplication problems include whole numbers, tenths and hundredths. Some answers have thousandths.
I have used puzzles like this in my remediation class of 6 fifth grade boys who eagerly solved problems in order to "beat" the other teams. This helps with fact fluency and is good practice.
