Do you love to do small group math? I do too! I love for students to be actively engaged in an activity that keeps them learning. I created this sort to use while teaching my students during our geometry unit. When I introduced polygons this was a perfect way to reinforce what they had learned. This is an easy center or station to use during your small group rotations.
This set includes:
-24 polygon/non-polygon cards
-Polygon and Not a polygon sort labels
-a recording sheet (and an answer key!)
Not much teacher prep needed; print, (I recommend cardstock so it lasts) laminate, and cut!
The students will have 2 categories (polygon/not a polygon) to sort the shape cards into. If you are using the recording sheet, the students will write the card number into the correct category.
You can use this as a center, independent work, partner work, or even in your own small group to check for understanding!
