A cross-curricular writing and math lesson appropriate for grades 2-4. The story is based on a character named Polygon Pete who is faced with a tough dilemma common for many young kids: a family move and a change of schools. Pete struggles to accept his fate but learns that change is scary, but can be a great learning experience. The story is full of alliterations, similes, metaphors, and silly puns. Great for young kids learning their shapes, and fourth grade writers learning new target skills. The students even get to create their own "Polygon Pete" using only polygons (sample included). Lots of fun!
