Description

Polygons I Have, Who Has Games can be used in many different ways. Students learn and practice the identifying and defining polygons by classifying the characteristics of triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, octagons. They are also exposed to the terms used to classify the polygons. Each game includes an answer key so that students can check their own work if playing independently. You could set a timer for a beat-the-clock challenge or let students work at their own pace.
Traditionally, this game is played as a large group, with each student getting one card and searching for one answer. Another option is to have students play in groups by either passing out several cards to each student or by placing all cards face up for all students to see. Then, they can work together to create a long snake-like chain. This encourages each student to try to find the answer to each card. Students can also work in pairs or independently.
