This project asks students to create their own understanding of some of the fundamental lessons in a polygons' unit. I've included the rubric on how to score individual projects. Students are asked to create a powerpoint presentation (or another medium of their choosing) to discuss topics that include the Polygon Angle Sum Theorem and Exterior Angle Sum Theorem. Students are also asked to create the always omnipresent chart that links number of sides to sum of angles, interior angle measure and exterior angle measure. Students will have to solve 3 problems, and research the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Released Tests for two problems that utilize the two polygon theorems.
I created this to give students having difficulty with passing tests an alternative to demonstrating their understanding of polygons.
