In this unit, students learned about the properties of a rhombus, rectangle, square, triangle, kite, and trapezoid. Following this, students chose an area between 40 and 300 square units. The goal was to have all 6 polygons have the same area. Then they would construct them and create a scene out of the polygons.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
-an underwater scene where each polygon represented a different type of underwater creature.
-a disney character, such as Minnie Mouse
-the trojan horse
-the list goes on!
Polygons were able to be duplicated where necessary. To finalize the poster, students provided a quote, slogan, or title for their piece of art.
