Doodle graphic organizer used to develop an understanding of polynomial division. One page focuses on the long division method and a second uses synthetic division. The pages have three of the exact same problems so students can compare and contrast. I always have students who love one method over the other so I continue to teach both methods year after year. The document prints on standard paper but can be trimmed to fit a composition notebook (that's how I use it). A key is included.

I have used math journals in my classroom for almost 20 years. I implemented interactive journals and struggled with the cut and paste and time involved in their creation. While I know there is a benefit, it did not work for me. These notes are the answer for my teaching style. While students are required to fill in vital information, they are not required to color. My students love getting an interesting handout instead of a generic math worksheet.
