The Components, Rules, and Commentary file contains 80 Linear Factor Cards and 4 Irreducible Quadratic cards. They can be used with the included game rules, or for a variety of other activities involving graphs of quadratic and polynomial functions.
It also contains a Rational Function Board that includes spaces for two factor cards in the numerator and two in the denominator. This lends itself to a variety of activities related to the behavior of the graphs of rational functions.
The 36 graph cards vary in degree from 3 to 6. Each has a certain number of points assigned. The spreadsheet I used to calculate this is included. I have also included a spreadsheet containing the factors, number of cards, degree, and number of points for each graph. The points range from 25 to 840 with a lower quartile of 69, median of 93, and upper quartile of 139.5.
The Task Cards and game are Common Core aligned:
CCSS.Math.Content.HSA-APR.B.3 Identify zeros of polynomials when suitable factorizations are available, and use the zeros to construct a rough graph of the function defined by the polynomial.
CCSS.Math.Content.HSF-IF.C.7c Graph polynomial functions, identifying zeros when suitable factorizations are available, and showing end behavior.
CCSS.Math.Content.HSF-IF.C.7d (+) Graph rational functions, identifying zeros and asymptotes when suitable factorizations are available, and showing end behavior.
