Description

This article for your Ancient Rome unit tells the fascinating story of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD and how it famously buried the town of Pompeii in ash for the next 1,000+ years.

It also features an excellent set of Common Core-aligned questions to gauge student understanding and reading comprehension. This is a great way to help your students become better readers while documenting your use of Common Core strategies and cover history!

An editable Google Doc version plus answer key are both included for your convenience.

You can find this and more great resources for teaching this unit in my Ancient Rome Unit Bundle!
