Want to extend your vocabulary instruction into your direct teaching station? Add this simple matching task.
Designed for 3-5 year old children with autism or intellectual delays, this simple matching task puts new vocabulary in front of students throughout the day. I usually use this matching task during direct teaching, either saying the word for nonverbal students or encouraging students who have some oral language to name the pictures.
This vocabulary task features different animals/plants that are commonly found in a pond. Vocabulary words/pictures are: dragonfly, duck, fly, frog, lilypad, fish, pond, swan, turtle.
