Description

In this activity, students use PhET's Density sim to rank objects by mass, size, density, and to determine a density-based rule for flotation. Neutral density is also noted. God-like abilities to manipulate the mass of constant-volume blocks or the volume of constant-mass blocks is explored.

PhET recently updated the Density simulation from Flash to HTML5. They're working on the Buoyancy sim. When they release that one, I'll update Pool Cubes 2 - Buoyancy. That PhETLab is a bit more intense than this one.
