Children take turns turning over a card and reading the sight word. If the child is able to read the word correctly he/she may keep the word. If the child is unable to read the word it goes back into the pile. When a POP! card is drawn all the children may pop out of their seat. The game can either end at this point or you may continue until all the cards have been used.
These popcorn containers can be purchased at the
Dollar Tree store. They are a fun alternative to the game. Place the cards in the container and play as mentioned above.
This game includes all of the Scott Foresman Reading Street Words for kindergarten. Blank cards are included.
I usually send this game home with the children in a popcorn box for summer practice!
