This Pop Art Family Valentine activity is customizable for every student in your class. Families come in many shapes and sizes, and students will use this resource to create a family Valentine portrait that represents each of their own families.
Use this Pop Art family portrait to create a large Valentine card by folding a
12x18 sheet of construction paper in half. Glue the family portrait to the front and glue a poem inside. Templates for acrostic poetry are included, but any poem can be used to complete this activity. The family portraits also make a meaningful and attractive bulletin board display.
This resource can be used throughout the year for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, and for team building activities in your classroom.
Simple to use! Show the samples and different family configurations to your students. Print the templates and people pages and make them available. Students customize by cutting out people and words and pasting/gluing to the template page each will select. Using the pattern suggestions, or patterns of their own design, students complete the activity by coloring in. Markers, watercolors, colored pencils, and stamper markers were used in the color sample, Crayons are also perfect for this activity!
