This bundle includes a 2-page lesson plan, a 24 slide PowerPoint that introduces students to 4 Pop Artists, and a Pop Art Heart Painting demonstration video. This is a 2-3 day lesson dependent upon time and class size.
The lesson plan includes materials, vocabulary, National Visual Arts Standards, rubric, and detailed procedures that include prep notes and media adaptations.
The PowerPoint introduces students to 4 Pop Artists: Romero Britto, Jim Dine, Robert Indiana, and Roy Lichtenstein and highlights several of their masterpieces.
The demonstration video is broken down into 2 days. One day models how to set up their composition and stamp lines using acrylic paint and a piece of cardboard. The second day demonstrates how to paint in the positive and negative space using liquid watercolor. The video preview has shortened segments and deleted scenes but will give you an excellent idea of the content.
This lesson has been implemented with students in grades 3rd - 5th with great success. It has been used in the art classroom, during after school art programs and during summer camps. This lesson has also been implemented with a long term art sub with success due to the detailed lesson plan and demonstration video. Students have loved this project! Enjoy!
