This is a terrific name art activity that I use to teach colour choice, colouring, space and Roy Lichtenstein. This is an entire mini unit on pop art. It comes with a writing activity as well as links to two videos that are helpful to teach this mini unit. It also comes with a sketchbook page so you can do an artist study on Lichtenstein. It is not simply instructions for an activity. This can easily take five weeks of 80 minute art periods.
In this unit students will make a pop art name piece that can be hung around the classroom for parent night. This makes an easy and fun piece that can be done any time during the school year but is easily impressive in the first months. It also means that even if you have no art background you can do this!
Included in the unit:
Videos about pop art
Art Interactive Notebook activity to give students opportunity to practice pop art and research about the featured artist Lichtenstein
Persuasive editorial about pop art
Rubric for persuasive
Rubric for art
Student examples plus critiques for each one
If you like this piece please rate and review. Also if you are looking for more art pieces to continue your interactive art notebooks check out my self portrait art that focuses on the art element of colour. Having all of the elements of art will make you look like an art pro and you will never have to learn any art skills!
