Here is a complete lesson on teaching Roy Lichtenstein Pop Art Portraits. The handout begins with a brief overview of Lichtenstein and his style. It then takes the student step-by-step on how to create their own comic style portrait.
You will need an iPad, or a device to take the students portrait, and a xerox machine to print the portrait and the handouts. Other necessary supplies are pencils, markers in red, yellow, blue & black, scissors, and glue. That's it!
The instructions are so simple, you can even leave this lesson for a sub!
The rubric grades students on Following Directions, Being Creative, Using Tools Correctly, Organizational Elements & Principles, & Effort & Behavior.
This lesson has been a standard in my art room for 3rd grade for years, and has been perfected over years of teaching!
