Looking for a hands-on activity that will integrate math, literacy and science? Looking for an educational lesson for those 'down' days - the first or last day of school or during testing windows? Popcorn Fun may meet your needs. It engages students, pushes them to think on higher levels and presents skills you are teaching authentically.
The two-page sheet can be done individually or with a partner. A kettle korn recipe and classroom-tested tips/suggestions allow for meaningful fun. This lesson is also great for substitutes or observations.
You will need access to The Popcorn Book by Tomie dePaola. Hardcopies are widely available from libraries, yet there are several read aloud versions on youtube.
PLEASE NOTE: I’ve significantly reduced the Additional Users License Fee to make this available for an entire grade level. When you check out, click EDIT next to the word 'Licenses' or the red button "Buy licenses to share'. Add additional licenses to cover your team. You’ll feel good about following TpT rules and be able to divide the overall cost.
