Teach phonics to your students the fun and engaging way with this beginning sounds game! Students need hands on curriculum to help them retain information and this game is perfect for that!

This game includes 78 brightly colored popcorn kernels to catch your students eye as well as colorful pictures. There are also 26 popcorn buckets, one for each letter of the alphabet.

This low prep activity is sure to keep your students engaged! Simply print cut and laminate. Have your students look at the picture and identify the beginning sound. They can search for the correct picture and place it in the popcorn bucket.

There are 3 pictures per beginning sound.

The pictures for each letter are:

Letter A- acorn, alligator, airplane

Letter B- bat, ball, balloon

Letter C- cake, candy, candle

Letter D- door, dress, donut

Letter E- egg, eagle, ear

Letter F- fire, fence, fish

Letter G- garbage, gate, game

Letter H- hive, hat, heart

Letter I- iguana, island, ice cream

Letter J- juice, jellybeans, jellyfish

Letter K- kitten, koala, kite

Letter L- ladder, lamp, ladybug

Letter M- mop, monkey, moon

Letter N- net, necklace, nest

Letter O- octopus, orange, onion

Letter P- pencil, paint, pear

Letter Q- quail, quilt, quarter

Letter R- rabbit, rainbow, rake

Letter S- seahorse, saw, sailboat

Letter T- tent, taco, teapot

Letter U- unicorn, unicycle, underwear

If you want some extra fine motor with this activity go ahead and velcro the kernels

onto some clothespins and have the students clip them on.

This game is differentiated so that you can give your students the challenge that they need. They can either look for 1, 2, or 3 beginning sounds.
