My students LOVE popcorn! The smell, the taste, and just the thought of it really! Here is a group of fun activities for you to play with your students to practice phonics skills!
This activity is meant to be used two different ways!
To prepare for both activities, print the popcorn cards on cardstock, laminate and cut out. Place cards in a popcorn container or other container.
Activity One - Print enough copies of the recording sheet for your group. Students will draw a card from the container, read it and write it on a popcorn piece on their paper.
Activity Two - Use the page titled ‘Picture Names for Cards” to target specific words for your students to read and practice. Type onto the recording sheet (it’s EDITABLE!). Student will draw a card from the container and look to see if the word is on their sheet. If so, he/she will use a crayon or BINGO dobber to color it (or a piece of popcorn to mark it!). There are more cards than spaces so it may be more of a challenge! .
Here are the different phonics skills included:
Hope you enjoy it!
