When teaching matter, talk to the students about water freezing. For one day's lesson, explore the items needed to make popsicles. I suggest just making Kool-aid and freezing it in an ice tray with popsicle sticks (small amounts for each student). Do the top portion of the paper that day. Have the students identify and draw the supplies needed to make the popsicles and write the ingredients needed to make the popsicles. For the second day's lesson, have the students explore the popsicles. Talk about what happened to the Kool-aid (it froze, it went through a physical change, etc.). Allow students to write about what happened to the popsicles and draw their popsicles, then eat their popsicles.
