Teach kids to recognize emotions with this fun puzzle matching game. The object of the game is to create 10 different popsicle sticks by matching up the emotion, picture, and situation. Includes colored and b/w versions. Emotions include calm, happy, confused, disgusted, shy, excited, frustrated, angry, worried, and scared.
Print colored popsicles onto cardstock and laminate for durability. Cut out the popsicles into three different sections (include the stick on the bottom section). Divide up the cards into three piles The top pile being the top of the popsicle, the middle pile being the middle part of the popsicle, and the bottom pile being the bottom part of the popsicle.
Player will draw three cards (a top, middle, and bottom) and try to get a match. If the player does not get a match, player will flip over the three cards and it is the next players turn. Game ends when all matches have been found.
For the b/w version, print the popsicles onto cardstock but don’t laminate (unless you just want to keep the b/w instead of having students color the popsicles). Cut out the popsicles into three different sections and then mix up the pieces. Players will work together to match up the three pieces so that the feeling word, face, and situation make a match. When players are done they can color the popsicles.
