Digital and traditional! Get an interactive match-ulp game for iPads or computers, and a match game, which is perfect for the classroom. In each game, you get 12 idioms and definitions for students to connect. It’s a great REVIEW for individual students or the whole class!
These games cover the following 12 idioms: break the ice, make ends meet, a picture is worth a thousand words, as the crow flies, blowing hot and cold, run of the mill, lightning never strikes twice, burning a hole in your pocket, sour grapes, through thick and thin, going to pot, and can't hold a candle to. And each has an easy-to-understand definition.
When you download this game as a PDF, you get 24 cards to cut out and use in a hands-on Match-Up Game.
Then open the corresponding Easel activity, which is found on this web page. Use the Easel platform, which is a FREE Teachers Pay Teachers resource, and assign the match-up game to your students digitally through it.
Your students will be able to play a game of concentration with their parents, classmates, or even by themselves on an iPad or a computer. Each box with a number on it moves. Students will move two boxes to reveal idioms and definitions. They will work to match the idioms to their corresponding definitions.
Then when someone moves the boxes around and puts the numbers back over them, the digital game can be played over and over again.
It’s that simple!
