This activity introduces the controversy between introducing predators or letting a population starve when its growth gets out of control. Students are given data on the population changes in mussels and seabirds, asked to calculate changes in growth and population size, and then asked to graph both populations on the same sheet. After analyzing these changes, students must make important decisions about the ethics of introducing predators to control a population.
