Finished teaching logistic and exponential growth curves? Looking for a fun experiment that models population growth? This lab simulates the spread of an infectious disease through a population (your classroom). Students will have fun seeing if they get "infected," and analyzing how the disease affects population growth.

Materials Needed:

Safety gear (goggles and gloves)

Potassium Hydroxide (or any strong, colorless base)

Phenolphthalein pH indicator

Distilled Water

Cups or vials (one per student)

Pipette or eyedropper
