Using population pyramid charts sourced from WorldPopulationReview.com and the U.S. Census Bureau, ten contrasting population pyramids are illustrated for students to match to their appropriate descriptions.
Purpose: To teach show students the variations of demographics around the U.S.A. using age-sex charts.
Hand out the map with ten population pyramids and have students hypothesize why the age-sex chart fits the description. Then, have students draw a line to the correct location on the map. OR, just give them the age sex chart worksheet without the map and try their hand at matching with the descriptions. This could be attached to the end of an exam or used as a quiz.
